Note: A helmsmen must rest to regain spells for 8 hours out of every day. Therefore can only operate the helm for a maximum of 16 hours in a day. Swapping helmsmen in wildspace takes about 10 muinutes for which time the ship will coast to a stop. In atmosphere the ship must land to swap out helmsmen. To exceed the 18 hours falls under the Over casting rules.
Note: The above calculator is spell point based allowing the character to only sacrifice certin spells in order to power a spelljamming helm. This calculator is used for Kilted Axe and Norm's Worlds rule sets and for in atmosphere travel only. Wildspace travel uses standard spelljammer rules.
