Out of all the different races on Altris there are only a few that are indigenous to the planet. All others have found themselves here by way of exploration, colonization, or by a happy accident. When these other races arrived, they brought with them some of the culture, architecture, and beliefs. Over time, many of these races have changed or blended with other cultures to create their own unique culture, making some of these races or sub-races un-recognizable by outsiders.
Choosing a race is a big step as this can affect your ability scores and the reaction of non-player characters in the game. Choosing a half-orc o play in an area that does not like half-orcs can be a big challenge. Playing a giant-kind in a human city can also be a challenge as nothing is built with a giant-kind in mind. Before selecting a race discuss with your DM about the location and type of campaign you will be put into, and the challenges you may face with that character
.Each race has some racial abilities. These abilities can be advantages or disadvantages. They can affect your ability scores, possibility making it impossible to choose the class you wish to play. On the other side, the bonus can advance the character class making the character slightly more powerful.
