Information

Orrif are large bi-pedal creatures that have an orc-like appearance. Their skin however is dark, rough, and cracked, like burnt stone; the cracked parts of the skin have a red glow. The hair is dark and thick much like a boar. They have small razor-sharp tusks protruding from their lower jaws they can use to bite and tear into their prey. They stand between 70-80 inches tall and weigh an average of 200-280 pounds. They are seen to wear a stone-like armor that seems to act as full plate and wield lances, javelins and bows while mounted and two-handed axes, two-handed swords, heavy flails, and morning stars while on foot. In combat they ride a large bat-like creature and use this creature to attack ground-based creatures with the claws and wing-buffs, in aerial combat, they use a combination of bat attacks and fly-by weapon attacks.

The Orrif gives off immense amount of heat, so intense, anyone in melee of the creature that does not have immunity or resistance to normal fire takes damage (d4) for each round in melee. In addition, the temperature is so hot it can increase the air temperature around the creature to 115-150 F causing heat stress to anyone in melee. (Fortitude save each round with a DC of 18, failed save results in a temporary loss of 1 con point). In addition, to the heat stress, dehydration can also become a factor (every 5 rounds a fortitude save verses DC 20 or loose 2 points of constitution). It has been seen that a person removing themselves from combat can recover fairly quickly. (outside melee for 2 rounds will restore 1 point of constitution).

Considering this creature gives off a large amount of heat, it is no surprise they are immune to fire, with some believing fire actually heals them (they tend to fight in pairs and remain close to each other). It has also been observed they are resistant to electricity based attacks (50%) and seem to absorb may physical attacks (physical resistance 10). Magical attacks seem to fail against them half the time.

However, if you can get passes their resistance, cold based attacks seem to cause great harm to them (double damage) and piercing base attacks seem to get passed their physical resistance, if it can get passed their thick armor.

These creatures are said to have been created by an ancient pig god to take vengeance on an attacking army. The creatures are said to have betrayed the god and she banished them. It is extremely rare to come across them and there has never been a recorded instance where one of these have been sighted here in the south. The only written reports of their sightings have always been to the far north, in the frigid lands north of the elven empires.

Ecology

These creature are belevied to be magically evolved from the Alaster Half-orc. They do not seem to lend anything to an ecology.
