Theina is the goddess and embodiment of light. She appears as a featureless humanoid radiating light from all surfaces. Together with her consort Laurits god of life they rule Ancarnabrosia, a pocket domain within the silver heaven. She is considered one of the elder gods. It is not certain when the first priests arrived here or where. She is often confused with Gryoczogias, as he is hailed as “The Light”, however the two are not the same. Followers of Gryoczogias will on occasion enter Theina temples to pray, but no services to him have ever been performed in any Theina temple.

Specialty clerics glow with Theina’s light, this is a soft white light that will light up an area of about 5 feet from the cleric and grants a +5 bonus to the clerics caster level to dispel magical darkness. If a darkness spell is cast within 5 feet of the cleric the darkness is automatically dispelled. The cleric also gains the Dispel Darkness spell which can be cast at each level as a free spell. A specialty cleric can turn undead as if one level higher and gains a +2 attack and damage bonus verses creatures that are harmed by light.

Specialty clerics can cast the light spell at will, gains access to a single use per day of the daylight spell at 4th level (this is in addition to any domain spells) and has access to the (Choose 2) Good, Fire, Healing or Sun domains.

The clerics wear yellowish-white robes with a sunburst on the chest. In armor they wear a breastplate over the robes with the same symbol. Clerics tend to use a ball style mace and round shield in combat. The ball mace is generally plated in gold and glows in a soft gold light.

Theina’s temples can be seen for miles and identified by a pillar of light that descends out of the sky, through a open window in the roof of the temple and onto the temples alter. The interiors are made of polished marble and well lit as to display no shadows inside the temple.

Holy Days

Dawn of Illumination (Yalla 1st): Symbolizing Theina’s power to banish the darkness of the old year. Observed At sunrise, worshipers gather to watch the first light of the year. Priests kindle the Sacred Flame in major temples, inviting believers to ignite personal lanterns from this holy fire.

Shaen’s First Full (Yalla 15th): Midwinter night that often coincides with the first full cycle of Shaen. Communities hold midnight vigils, dancing under the moonlight. Some sects of Theina believe that sleeping outdoors this night grants prophetic dreams guided by Theina’s radiance.

Equinox of Rebirth (Feya 15th): First day of spring. Bright flowers are said to bloom earlier on Feya 15 in tribute to Theina’s favor. Temples host dawn services featuring communal planting and blessing ceremonies. Many farmers sow seeds on this day, trusting Theina’s light to nourish the new growth.

Day of Solar Ascendance (Ossa 20th): First day of summer. The longest daylight hours of the year are heralded as Theina’s peak power. Clerics lead sunrise rituals around outdoor bonfires. Communities hold fairs or competitions in broad daylight, symbolically challenging darkness to approach and fail in Theina’s full brilliance.

Shimmering Equinox (Cea 22nd): First day of fall. As the days shorten, this holiday thanks Theina for the brightness that has carried everyone through the year’s warmer seasons. Many devotees set out small candles in doorways or on windowsills at dusk, lighting the community with hundreds of flickering flames to ward off the growing night.

Ember of Remembrance (Tren 28th): Last day of Tren, near the end of autumn and heading into late-year gloom. Families gather at community hearths, each depositing a small ember from their own household fires. These embers symbolize unity under Theina’s light, even as winter’s darkness approaches.

Year’s Last Flame (Nea 28th): Final day of the year. As winter fully sets in and the cycle of seasons completes, worshipers honor Theina for all light shared throughout the year. At dusk, all temple torches are extinguished except one central flame, representing Theina’s eternal presence. At midnight, the flame is used to reignite every lantern and torch in the temple, welcoming the dawn of a new year
