The merchant god, also called by some as the god of greed. Quesin is generally depicted as a large jolly human sitting in a pile of gold coin and gold items, toasting with a golden chalice. Quesin demands a fair price for quality goods and is upset when goods are sold higher than they are worth. Quesin scoffs at undercharging for goods claiming, better to give it for free than to waste your time and effort haggling a reduce the price.
Quesin has few priests and fewer temples. The few that exist are modest. Generally, a temple consists of a large room with a shrine and a brazier that worshippers burn rice paper with their prayers on. There are several smaller rooms to accommodate the priests and merchants. Each temple will generally have 2-3 priests with about 6 attendants or caretakers. Many of the people found in the temple or on the temple grounds are merchants using the temple as a resting spot while on trips. Clerics can be found travelling with caravans and tending shrines in or near market districts in large cities. Merchants are able to stay at a temple free of charge for a single night.
Clerics are generally exited to assist people in haggling or exposing trickster and will accompany patrons who are expecting to purchase expensive or high valued items to ensure a fair deal is made. The cleric will only take a small fee, generally between 1-2 gold pieces for their troubles. Market clerics will also appraise items people bring to them, normally for no more than a coin. The type of coin depends on the items value. A cleric will never charge for an item that is valued under a silver piece.
A Cleric of Quesin is extremely easy to spot. Their robes are made of a high gloss satin or silk with vertical stripes of gold silver and platinum running the full length of the robes. The platinum stripe is always over the chest and this is the location of the Quesin’s symbol. The cleric is normally armed with a walking cane or staff but does not ware armor.
Clerics of Quesin gain a +5 to their appraisal skills and a +5 to diplomacy skill when it involves money or goods. The cleric also has the ability to mass appraise a group of items with a 90% accuracy. Coin carried by the cleric also bares no weight, allowing them to carry large sums of coin without being encumbered. Clerics also have a six sense and it is very difficult to pick their pockets increasing the thieves DC by 10.
Temples will sell items that assist merchants and buyers alike. Spectacles that assist in evaluating the quality and/or value of items, Bags, chests, and pouches of holding. Items with thief protection on them and so forth.
