Osslla was the firstborn child of Laurits, god of Life, and Theina, goddess of Light. She was conceived during a divine age of renewal, when the gods sought to populate the world with mortal beings. Unlike her radiant mother or solemn father, Osslla came into being with warmth and softness—an aura of gentle power that encouraged growth not through force or wisdom, but through the miracle of life itself. At birth, her cry caused seeds to sprout, and her first laugh kindled warmth in barren soil. Her domain was not nature’s wilds, but the intimate spaces of the hearth, the birthing bed, and the breath of newborns. When Shae was later born from moonlight, Osslla welcomed her with protective love, guiding her infant sister’s first steps by starlight. Though many gods command armies or command winds, Osslla’s strength lies in her unwavering role as the silent guardian of creation’s next generation.
Most clergy live in rural communities or accompany merchant caravans, always ready to provide aid to those in need of healing or birth support.
Life begins in quiet places, and it is in those places that Osslla’s presence is most deeply felt. Every birth is a sacred act, a renewal of the divine gift of life bestowed upon the world by Laurits and Theina. Her followers believe that bringing life into the world is the highest form of devotion, and the act of nurturing that life—whether in the womb or in the cradle—is holy. The protection of mothers and children is not just a duty, but a sacred trust. Clergy are taught to act as guardians, healers, and comforters, ensuring that no one bears the trials of birth alone.
Osslla teaches that even in loss or struggle, there is meaning, and from sorrow may rise strength and compassion. Her faithful are expected to bring hope where there is fear, to ease suffering with touch and word, and to carry the memory of lost children with reverence. Violence is never the first answer; to raise a weapon is to forsake what might grow in peace. Only when life itself is in danger may her clerics take up arms, and even then, only to preserve the lives entrusted to them. In all things, the sanctity of birth, the tenderness of motherhood, and the promise of future generations guide her faithful.
