Nuvine appears as a thin, young female human. She stands about 4 feet tall and weighs around 77 pounds. She has child like features. Descriptions more accurate than this are lost to time as even each temple depicts her differently picking up the attributes of the local area and culture. In some lore, Nuvine is said to be a child of Yanbetso who was lost on the great chaotic sea in Limbo, while other lore contends Yanbetso plucked the child from the sea, sparing her a death by drowning. But in all the lore it is agreed Nuvine was lucky to have been found.
Nuvine loves games of chance and will take things to the very edge of harm, then pull back. She does not approve of extreme chance taking, especially those that will result in death.
The clergy wear simple robes or clothing and carry a simple iron holy symbol. They can use any wepaon but prefer blunt single handed or quarter staves. They do not wear armor that reduces their dexterity bonus below 3.Very few ever display items of wealth. The temple is also simple, though decorated with images of a childlike figure taking risky chances and narrowly avoiding harm. In each temple the figure looks different. The alter is a simple round basin filled with fragrant water.
The clergy love to play games of chance and tend to challenge each other to feats of balance or in guessing games. When gambling with others, and on the event of taking a large amount of coin, the cleric will nearly always return most of the coin, or donating it, keeping a modest amount for his/her winnings.
A clergy’s holy symbol bestows luck bonuses to the faithful clergy. These bonuses are all +1 to attacks, to each armor bonus (armor, deflection, dodge, natural, and shield (even if no shield is used)), and each saving throw. Additionally, a cleric may choose a single roll per encounter to re-roll, or choose a single save or attack roll to automatically hit.
Once per day a cleric may give the blessing of Nuvine, granting one person per 5 levels within the clerics sight a +1 supernatural luck bonus to attacks, armor class and saving throws. These bonuses last for one hour and stack with other non-supernatural luck bonuses.
