Religion - Gyu-Poi
BACK
Alignment:Lawful - Neutral
Sphere of Influence:Duty
Symbol:A helm resting on the sword hilt

Gyu-Poi is the embodiment of duty and unwavering loyalty. During a time of extreme unrest in the outer planes, it was Gyu-Poi who volunteered to guard the gate to Acheron and prevent any incursion into Nirvana until relieved of that duty. Gyo-Poi has never been relieved of that duty and has stood watch over the Acheron gate for eons.

Gyu-Poi can send facets to the prime material plane to assist loyal subjects with or remind them of their duties. When taking human form Gyu-Poi is a female warrior of average height, clad in thin chainmail with a white and silver tabard. The head is protected with a nasal helm with chainmail covering the back and sides of the neck. The face is fully visible. Guy-Poi’s face is perfectly symmetrical and unblemished. Hair and skin color varies based on the area’s ethic makeup.

Clergy of Gyu-Poi either dress in similar fashion to Gyu-Poi’s human form, in simple silk robes or basic tunic and breeches. Not all clergy are warriors, and each understands their place. The clergy promotes loyalty to causes and dedication to see things to the end. When a member of the clergy takes on a task, they will remain with it until it is completed, or they die. The only exception is if the clergy learns the task was given under deception.

Temples are as symmetrical as possible with elaborate carvings depicting Gyu-Poi standing guard and other great feats of loyalty and duty. The carvings are them nearly perfectly copied on the opposing walls, columns, or ceilings. The temple does not have benches or pews, instead there are small raised circles evenly spaced on the floor where the worshippers kneel.
