The outpost was amazing, these dwarves have truly mastered the art of stone crafting. They use a mixture of magic and craftsmanship to manufacture nearly all things from stone, much like our dwarves with metal. Okhan explained to me that these dwarves do not use metal because of the corrosive nature of the place, metal objects, even magical ones will begin to weaken in a matter of days.

Armor, weapons, plates, bowls, even spoons and forks. All these things are expertly crafted and are as smooth as if made from silver, and as strong as steel.

The current rumor is anything taken from these lands begins to quickly degrade. So I devised an experiment. We sealed several small items in a glass contained and waxed the edges to keep the air out. The placed the same type of items in another container and did not seal it.

Within 60 days of leaving the island, the unsealed items were pitted and became brittle, while the ones in the sealed container remained unchanged. So it seems their items can only survive in their lands.
